Associazione Amicizia Sardegna Palestina is a volunteering organization founded in 1997 in Dolianova, Cagliari, Sardinia (Italy). Since our birth, we have been trying to promote substantive rights, such as the right of self-determination of the peoples, with a particular focus on Palestine.
Our mission is mainly to bring out awareness of the living conditions in Palestine, where the Palestinian people struggle for their freedom against the Israeli occupation, and, nontheless, in the Palestinian refugee camps, where Palestinians (both first-generation refugees and their descendants) fight for their right of return. There is a reason why European people do not know much about the Palestinian struggle and the Israeli colonialism, and it is called Zionist propaganda, which is still quite strong in Europe. What we do is to oppose this unilateral information coming from western media by focusing on the historical and cultural issues of the Palestinian question. In order to make it possible, we organise activities such as seminars, conferences, art exhibitions, film screening and musical events and books publication. Moreover, we work with many other organizations and participate in the local cultural and political events, not only on Palestine, as we believe in the internationalist struggle.
